Boris Johnson will review the UK’s coronavirus lockdown with his cabinet later, after suggesting some rules could be eased from Monday.

By law the government must review the restrictions every three weeks, and Thursday marks the latest deadline.

The prime minister will address the nation at the weekend to outline plans for the next stage of the lockdown.

It is understood the “stay at home” message could be scrapped, with ministers keen to restart the economy.

  1. We will be encouraged to come out of lockdown too soon, thousands more will die and if people think it's bad now, wait till autumn lockdown! It's coming and we will lose far more businesses and jobs then.

  2. Why is everyone clapping for nhs workers to show appreciation? If you really want to show appreciation than call the government out to give nhs workers a raise for all the hard work that they do. Just find it patronising to say the least.

  3. I so what to get back on a plane. I had such great adventures planned this year. Around the world in 18 days, Dubai for Β£50 and a trip to Antarctica….. My realistic plans are a trip to Dundee and Bristol !!! but who knows when….lol

  4. I hate that they are testing on the Isle of Wight! The results aren’t going to be fair, a lot of our population are 50+ so more will die from it if lockdown is lifted. Yeah we are cut off from the uk but doing this won’t prevent anything.

  5. Yes lock down everything and let all migrant n flights come in. What a joke . Bill gates appeasements has ruined bbc and we literally don’t trust ur news anymore.

  6. Lockdown… this Bungling Boris should be locked up! VE day to commemorate those involved in the war now dead or dying ALONE in nursing homes across the country.LOCK HIM UP

  7. If we have some of the best businesses in the world ( Bojos words ) why have this government not had faith in our ability to produce PPE? Matt Cockhand said he couldn't take up many offers from British companies to manufacture PPE because " no PPE is better than poor PPE " ? So we buy blind from Turkey and China? Bribes anyone!
