Dr. Bryan Ripley Crandall is Director of the Connecticut Writing Project and Associate Professor in the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions at Fairfield University. Crandall’s scholarship-in-action has received a 2016 Martin Luther King, Jr. Vision Award for Faculty, a 2016 President’s Innovation Award for Community Engagement, a 2017 Elizabeth M. Pfriem Civic Leadership Award, and a 2018 Divergent Award for Excellence in 21st Century Literacies. In 2019, the Connecticut Writing Project will be recognized by the Coalition for Community writing for Ubuntu Academy, a young adult literacy lab for immigrant and refugee youth. .
