Coronavirus: What do we know so far? | The Bottom Line

Weeks after the outbreak of a novel coronavirus in Wuhan, China, researchers are still not sure how it spreads between humans, and how to neutralise it.

While the mortality rate is relatively low, the quick spread of the virus triggered shock waves worldwide. By mid-February, cases were reported in more than 20 countries.

“Coronaviruses are known to circulate amongst humans but also other animal populations and particularly bats, and there are also other types of animals that can also carry coronaviruses,” Dr Lisa Maragakis, senior director of infection prevention at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, tells Al Jazeera.

“So the thought now is that there were probably some intermediary species in that market or in the vicinity that had the coronavirus and mutations in the virus can also cause it to affect humans.”

We discuss the fallout of the epidemic beyond the public health dimensions. How does it affect China’s role in the world? Should we expect any economic impact?

Join Steve Clemons and his panel of experts as they get to The Bottom Line.

  1. Lysol will disinfect an area with this virus. Says it right on the can. Go to the grocery store (or Walmart, etc.) and see for yourself! Listing says it kills SARS Coronavirus (they are among the same type of disease).

    Btw, DO NOT INGEST LYSOL!!!

Nano Silver has a proven record of neutralizing this virus (if you can find a drinkable version of it). Do a search for "SilverSol Technology Nano Silver". Try Bing or DuckDuckGo ig google is not showing results……remember google is trying to surpress any form of natural treatment!!

  2. Alright let me start by saying swine flu is human flu. Pigs get the same flu humans get. If a person working at a pig farm brings a new strain of flu into the house the house gets sick. They are human/pig viruses. Pigs are the closest related to humans in the animal kingdom. They literally use pig parts in human transplants. Successfully. So, it is not true to say swine flu. I worked on a hog farm and literally caught every strain of flu that ever came on the property. Not together either. Get over one get another for 6 months straight. I almost quit. Then I was immuned. Have not had the flu since.
