DJ NTD – SotNTV – Mix #45 10/09/2013 Soulful Drum and Bass

Sorry for the late upload. When I went to bed, the video was an hour away from being uploaded, when the computer suddenly decided, “I’m updating and restarting. Oh, you’re asleep? Go screw yourself.”

I completely forgot what it felt like to have every ounce of energy and happiness sucked out of you by allergies. This is one of the many reasons why I still don’t understand why people enjoy the fall season in the Lonestar state.

Nonetheless, the music must go on, and has been somewhat therapeutic this week. Some particular nostalgia comes from spinning tracks such as Devotion, Take You out, and L’amour. I’ve had those tracks for two years now, and I can still remember spinning those back in the laptop DJ days. It’s still difficult to listen to Devotion without crying a little. It was hard then, and it’s still hard now.

Also note that I’ll be dropping the “different background clip a month” getup in favor of simply putting in videos (or still images, if I can’t find something fitting) that go well with the music. I’m pretty sure last week’s video was confusing when chill dubstep music was playing and a hula girl was dancing at 100 BPM.

Speaking of 100 BPM, that’s my tempo range for next week’s mix. I haven’t done hip-hop in a while, so this oughtta be fun. It’s a shame that I don’t have a good enough controller to do some scratching, but I’ve got to pay for stuff.
