Iran's foreign minister sends message to Boris Johnson

Mohammad Javad Zarif congratulated his former counterpart as foreign minister after Mr Johnson (pictured in London today) comfortably beat Jeremy Hunt to win the keys to Number 10. Zarif promised that Iran ‘does not seek confrontation’, but went on: ‘We have 1,500 miles of Persian Gulf coastline. These are our waters and we will protect them.’ Although he did not mention it, Zarif’s comments appeared to warn the new Tory leader against implementing Mr Hunt’s proposal of a Europe-led taskforce to defend Gulf shipping. He also repeated Tehran’s claim that Britain was guilty of ‘piracy’ after seizing the Iranian supertanker Grace 1 in the waters of Gibraltar on July 4.

  2. No one is deleting your comments to your question I totally iran does not want confrontation but as they are even advertising or showing videos the they are enriching uranium and have a nuclerar program and only to have enriched up to 3.6 % and now have more centrifusions iran should give up 97% of what is produced now they wont make a new deal to comply better with the new deal sanctions have been put in place.

I agree every one should defend their own country but just one wrong turn and the hole world takes a hit. As for the inspections well the debatable isnt it

  3. Iran just wanted to be alone. They don't believe in Mass destruction weapons like nuclear bombs, they know this as a big sin. Don't you know that?
