In an astonishing intervention during a visit to London today, John Kerry (in main picture facing Britain’s Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson at a meeting today) said the US election has been ‘difficult for our country’s perception abroad’. Mr Kerry, who also met Britain’s Chancellor Philip Hammond (pictured right inset) and London Mayor Sadiq Khan (left inset) during a whistle-stop tour of London, added: ‘There are moments when it is downright embarrassing’. Mr Kerry, who ran as the Democratic party’s presdidntial candidate in 2004, appeared to criticise Hillary Clinton as he expressed frustration at the failure of the presidential debates to focus on ‘real issues’.
