The UK Home Office’s unclear plan for “some form of contactless corridor or automated gates for identity and security checks” may be much clearer than the UK government’s announcement would propose as, the New Statesman reports that face biometrics-powered contactless corridors of the type iProov powers for Eurostar are intended for execution.
The biometric corridors would verify the face biometrics of foreign travellers coming to the UK against a photo provided online previously. The plan revealed by the UK Home Office states contactless corridors only in the sentence quoted before, but also mentions proposes for U.S.-style Electronic Travel Authorization.
Andrew Bud, CEO of iProov, mentions that the New Statement his company has made “indirect” involvements to UK Home Office’s plans for airports.
