Pelosi marks slave trade anniversary with speech in Ghana

Nancy Pelosi led a congressional delegation to a former slave port in Ghana on Wednesday to observe the 400th anniversary of the first enslaved Africans being shipped to America. Ilhan Omar, one of the four congresswomen who have faced racially-charged attacks by Donald Trump in recent weeks, joined her on the visit, as they denounced the ‘terrible atrocity’ of slavery. The visit comes amid turbulence in Omar’s private life, as Dailymail.com revealed last week that she is living separately from her Ahmed Hirsi – the father of her three children – amid rumors the couple will divorce for a second time. Omar was also caught on film having dinner with a mystery man in California back in March.
