With new quarantine restrictions and travel corridors in place, the pandemic has certainly changed the way we are able to holiday this summer.

British holidaymakers are currently having to quarantine when returning from a number of countries. But will the pandemic have a more lasting impact on travel?

“I think the future of travel is going to be a much more meaningful and thoughtful process with pros and cons as we go,” said Tom Harding, the co-founder of Nemo, a luxury travel business. “It’s definitely not a new trend, but it’s going to be more enhanced now.”

But Gloria Guevara, the CEO of the World Travel and Tourism Council, sees a more varied future for global travel. “We see the future of travelling facing one phase before the vaccine and another phase after the vaccine.” She predicted a range of tests and safety measures for travellers in both cases.
