UK Cabinet reshuffle: Sajid Javid resigns as chancellor – BBC News

Sajid Javid has resigned as chancellor as Boris Johnson carries out a post-Brexit cabinet reshuffle.

Mr Javid rejected an order to fire his team of aides, saying “no self-respecting minister” could accept such a condition.

He had been due to deliver his first Budget in four weeks’ time.

The former home secretary was appointed chancellor by Mr Johnson when he became prime minister in July.

His resignation follows rumours of tensions between Mr Javid and the prime minister’s senior adviser Dominic Cummings.

“He has turned down the job of chancellor of the Exchequer,” a source close to Mr Javid said.

“The prime minister said he had to fire all his special advisers and replace them with Number 10 special advisers to make it one team.

“The chancellor said no self-respecting minister would accept those terms.”

  1. I have never believed in the fairy tale of Britain as the mother of democracy. What is going on here is taken right from a project managers handbook: How to become a dictator and famous forever!
The British public is not used to direct democracy as people are in Switzerland, as an example. They seem to me like a herd of sheep, rushing where the majority runs.. And if it is getting too hard, you only hear: I´d rather not be involved. They are trained to obey from the very first days in school. They are not queuing because of common sense, rather being afraid to do something wrong and getting reproached, that's more or less the fact behind the hypocrite surface of peaceful friendliness you are confronted with in that country,. The signs everywhere to behave properly combined with threatened punishments will most probably not be set up for no reason and may illustrate what led to my conclusions, beside what I was told by real British people.
Johnson was and maybe still is on the payroll of the Barcleys! All in his cabinet are more or less engaged in the finance industry and belong to the 10% of the population that has been manipulating the country for hundreds of years. Nobody dares to question the heritage of the colonization, or shall I better say invasion of almost the whole world, still eager to exploit where you can. But you always have to pay a bill in life. The British people will pay a bill for their ignorance to let somebody rule the country you can adress as an outspoken liar without having to be afraid to face a claim at court. The British people have not understood until to date, that the European Union is doing exactly what the British strategic policy has been for centuries, trying to balance the powers on the continent. Instead of cooperating and pushing a real democratic project ahead, you are a witness of something that reminds me how Mussolini, by the way, he was a journalist as well, started his fascistic project and all dictators have done in the beginning: Enjoying the cheering of apple-polishers! Farewell Great Britain! You may have doubts about Mr. Sajid Javid, but he definitely is not a Yes-Sayer and he has a solid background of skills far beyond those of a clownish but definitely fake story teller as is the present Prime Minister. Or is that all only THE REAL LITTLE BRITAIN I am watching now, I shall enjoy and laugh about? Hopefully the tabloid is waking up instead of soothing the public! I wonder what the poor queen is thinking those days! OK, LOL

  2. Cummings is pulling the strings on his dancing muppet again. It worries me that the war game ideas loved by Cummings which have enabled him to manipulate democracy will eventually be the end of democracy itself. I just hope the public wakes up to the mass manipulation that has been used in a manner not unlike the 'democracy' in Russia.

  3. Sajid adamantly refused to bend over. That's all it's all about. Not a rocket science! " All I have in this world is my asre-hole and my ball's, I don't tender it for no body"!

  4. There is a 'bus' theme here… Javid had a father who drove a 'bus' , Boris Johnson went around in a 'bus' with £350M for the NHS on the sides; he threw Javid under the 'bus' Andrea Leadsom looks like she missed the 'bus', Priti Patel looks like the back of a … anyway, you get the picture.

  5. Dominic Cummings is the force behind Boris. Eventually we have an MP with strength of character and commitment to his belief. Dominic Cummings is still purging the Tory Party. ( If your not with us your against us)! And rightly so and not before time.

  6. Sadiq Khan,The Mayor of London should resign too, London has descended into mass knife attacks and murders, and divided up into zones controlled by mafia gangsters and scammers from Nigeria, Russia and Albania.
